Understanding Hospice Scrutiny                          HIPAA Update
RAC Assistance for Hospice  was launched in August 2009.  Click here for a copy of the press release.  In less than a month, almost 1000 hospice professionals registered at the RAC website to receive the free RAC e-newsletter and to participate in the RAC Forum.  Click here to register. 
More than 170 hospice professionals attended Weatherbee's Hospice Regulatory Boot Camp at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas August 31-September1, 2009.  Sponsored by the California Hospice and Palliative Care Association, this was the largest boot camp ever conducted by Weatherbee Resources.  Jay Mahoney, principal of Summit Business Group, participated as a guest faculty member.

 









The Hospice Education Network is pleased to announce it has been awarded provider status by the National Board of Certified Counselors.  HEN now grants continuing education for nurses, social workers and certified counselors.

In April 2009, the Hospice Education Network was named as a finalist in the healthcare category of Sonic Foundry's Rich Media Impact Awards for 2009.

In June 2009, Weatherbee Resources was awarded a contract by the New York State Department of Health to provide New York hospices with assistance in the development of QAPI programs.
In September 2008, Weatherbee Resources, Inc. was awarded a contract by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to assist in the training of hospice surveyors on the new hospice conditions of participation.
